Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to improve by one IELTS band?

Typically three to six months of consistent study for a full band, and four to eight weeks for a half band, assuming regular practice with reviewed feedback. Improvement is fastest when it targets the single lowest paper rather than spreading effort evenly.

How many times can I take IELTS?

There is no limit on the number of attempts and no waiting period between sittings. You can book the next available test date after receiving a result.

How long is an IELTS result valid?

IELTS results are normally valid for two years from the test date, though some institutions and immigration authorities apply shorter windows.
